Themes not based on Dawn

NativeSlide knows how Dawn and the free Shopify themes built on it handle their cart. Many other themes work the same way, but some need a couple of settings.

If adding a product opens the theme’s drawer as well as NativeSlide’s, hide the theme’s drawer with a line of CSS in the editor’s Code tab. First find the drawer’s selector:

  1. Open your store in Chrome, add a product, and right-click the theme’s drawer.
  2. Choose Inspect and look for the element that wraps the whole drawer. It usually has drawer or cart in its ID or class, such as id="CartDrawer".
  3. Add it to Custom CSS:
#CartDrawer {
display: none !important;
}

The cart count in the header doesn’t change

Section titled “The cart count in the header doesn’t change”

Point NativeSlide at the element that shows the count, and it will keep it up to date. Find it the same way, by right-clicking the number in your header and choosing Inspect, then enter its selector as Items count selector in Global settings, for example .cart-count-bubble span.

NativeSlide replaces the element’s whole text with the number, so pick the element that holds only the number, not one that also contains the icon or a label.

If your theme shows the cart subtotal somewhere, Subtotal selector does the same for the amount, such as £45.00.

Both selectors work whether Replace the theme’s cart is on or off.

NativeSlide takes over any add to cart form that posts to /cart/add. Some themes instead add the product with their own script and then send the shopper to the cart page. NativeSlide can’t stop that. Contact us through Support with your theme’s name and we’ll look into it.
