Getting started
NativeSlide replaces your theme’s cart with a cart drawer you design yourself. Shoppers add a product, the drawer slides in, and they can change quantities, apply a discount code and check out without leaving the page.
You build the cart in the NativeSlide editor, starting from a template, and publish it to your store when it’s ready. You can change it at any time.
From install to a live cart
Section titled “From install to a live cart”-
Install NativeSlide on your store. See Install the app.
-
Turn on the app embed in your theme. This puts the cart on your storefront. It’s a switch in Shopify’s theme editor, and the NativeSlide dashboard links you straight to it.
-
Create a cart. In Carts, choose Add cart and pick a template. See Carts.
-
Make it yours and publish it. Adjust the blocks and colours in the editor, try the cart with your own products in Simulate cart, and use Preview to see it on your store. Then choose Publish. See The editor and Save and publish.
Once a cart is published, your theme’s own cart stays out of the way: links and buttons that used to open it open NativeSlide instead. How the cart works with your theme explains what happens and how to turn that off.
Checking that everything works
Section titled “Checking that everything works”The Dashboard shows Storefront status:
- App embed should say Enabled, with the name of your live theme.
- Last publish shows when your cart last went live.
- Snippet version is the version of the NativeSlide code your store runs. You don’t need to do anything with it, but our support team may ask for it.
