Install the app

If you install NativeSlide from Shopify, approve the permissions it asks for and you’ll be signed in to NativeSlide with the email address of your Shopify account. Your products are imported in the background straight away.

You can also start from NativeSlide. Sign in, then on Connect your Shopify store enter your store’s address and choose Install on Shopify. Use your myshopify.com address, such as your-store.myshopify.com, not your own domain. Pasting the address of your Shopify admin works too.

NativeSlide doesn’t use passwords. Enter your email on the sign-in page and choose Send magic link. We’ll email you a link; open it and choose Continue to sign in. It works once, for 10 minutes.

NativeSlide adds its cart to your store through an app embed, which you switch on once in your theme.

  1. On the NativeSlide Dashboard, find App embed under Storefront status and choose Enable it in the theme editor. This opens Shopify’s theme editor with the app embeds showing.

  2. Turn on NativeSlide.

  3. Choose Save in the theme editor.

  4. Back on the dashboard, choose the refresh icon. App embed should now say Enabled.

The embed has to be on in your live theme. If you switch themes later, turn it on in the new theme as well.

App embed status What it means
Enabled The cart can show on your store
Not enabled The embed has never been turned on in your live theme
Disabled It was turned on, then off again
Unknown NativeSlide couldn’t check, for example because it needs new permissions

Sometimes NativeSlide needs extra permissions in Shopify, for example after an update, or the app was removed and installed again. A banner says your store needs to re-authorize NativeSlide. Choose Re-authorize and approve the request in Shopify. Until you do, some features may not work on your store.
